Lamination Pads

In the past, many layers of paper were used as a cushion for the lamination process. Modern Press Pads consist of multiple heat-resistant layers with different features. As in consequence, we develop different lamination pads for different purposes.

Primus

The press pad "Primus" is the latest development in the Schwan program. As a new generation of press pads, "Primus" has a canvas-like surface. The outer layers are made of heat-resistant fabric, surrounding two layers of silicone rubber and  a middle layer of fabric.

The major difference to other press pads is the fabric surface surrounding silicone rubber. Usually, Silicone rubber surrounds the fabric, to deliver the best cushioning function. The "Primus" offers the same cushioning function and heat transfer, but the practical handling of fabric is more convenient.

The maximum operating temperature is 260 °C.

Every pad is produced on demand, according to the specific requirements of the lamination process. Size and special treatments are hand customized here in Viersen Germany.
